Using observational data to develop predictive tools for use in clinical practice

Using the MSBase registry, this seminar will describe an example of a clinician-initiated project that translated a series of clinical observations into practical, validated nomogram-based tools for the early prediction of conversion to clinically definite multiple sclerosis at the time of first symptoms (clinically isolated syndrome).

This seminar will provide a worked example of how the data was modelled and then used to design and build predictive tools explicitly designed to aid clinician and patient decision making around treatment initiation in real world practice.
