New study published about the use of Real World Data in HTA
A newly published study reviews the use of Real World Data (RWD) in health technology assesment (HTA). Reports published between the 1st of January 2011 and the 31st of December from 2016 from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC), Haute Autorité de santé (HAS), Institute for Quality and Efficacy in Healthcare (IQWiG), and Zorginstituut Nederland (ZIN) were included. RWD data was extracted from relative effectiveness assessments (REAs) and cost-effectiveness assessments (CEAs) and standarized for the analysis. The results show that RWD is used more in CEAs than REAs. However, differences on the use of RWD between agencies were observed.
