New guiding criteria for the management of medical devices in the New Methods system
Those involved in the system New Methods have formulated guiding criteria for the management of medical devices to be evaluated in this system. The document provides step-by-step guidance on which medical devices are appropriate for evaluation, and includes criteria for selection, relevance, and the level of evaluation.
The guiding criteria can be used by proposers (e.g. industry), the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, the RHA Ordering Forum, and hospitals. The guiding criteria have been published on the New Methods website and included in other relevant documents such as application forms. After a certain time, the experiences with the guiding criteria will be evaluated in dialogue with developers and users.
