The Federal Office of Public Health and the Federal Government prolong the validity of the TARMED tariff system for out-patient services until the end of 2017
In a note of November 23rd, the Federal Government has announced that the validity of the current version of TARMED, the tariff system for out-patient care, would be prolonged until the end of 2017. The current tariff version includes changes ordered by the Federal Council in 2014. The extension of its validity is based on an agreement of the tariff partners done to avoid the complete lack of tariffs for the next year. In the same note, the Federal Government confirmed its willingness to step-in in the definition of tariffs, given the persisting lack of accordance among tariff partners on a revised version of TARMED. The revision from the Federal Government, which will be presented by mid-2017, will include proposals for reduction of tariffs for some procedures (i.e. cataract operations).
